Save money by allowing employees to use personally-owned tablets, phablets, and smartphones in the line of duty. Wheelchair van drivers and gurney van drivers, for example, do not fill out PCR reports, and therefore can perform all job functions from their personal smartphone. There is no need to provide them with a mobile device.

ASSUMPTIONS: Supervisors are always issued individual mobile devices, even if crew members are required to share devices between themselves. Mobile internet service costs $30 per month per device, with a 15% corporate discount for accounts with 10 or more devices. Small tablets cost about $100 each because you will be purchasing them under a service contract; large tablets about $200. Laptops cost $1200; the needed wifi modem is supplied free when signing up for a wireless service contract. New toughbooks cost $3000 each; used toughbooks cost half that. Device loss rates are figured at 1% per month when issued to individual employees, 2% when issued to vehicles (responsibility is diffused between multiple crew members), and 4% when shared among all crew members (easy to duck responsibility for losses). Tablet loss rates are three times that of toughbooks because although tablets are more fragile, toughbooks are stolen far more often. Laptop loss rates are four times that of toughbooks because they are not ruggedized and cannot be armored. AngelTrack cloud server size is chosen according to the guidelines on the Pricing page. The cost for AngelTrack service is discounted by purchasing annual licenses instead of monthly. Supervisors who lose or damage their personal device are not reimbursed.
